2026 is here!

We opened on June 14th and have been having a wonderful time! The weather has been very pleasant and this makes the experience on the water and around the lodge a delight.

Our Anglers have ranged around the entire Milbanke Sound area including hot spots like Cheney Point, Cape Swaine, Thompson Bay and Ivory Island. The largest Chinook to date has been 34lbs taken at Cape Mark. Most Chinook have been in the 15-20lb size range.  Coho in the 6-8lb size have ben showing and will continue to grow in both abundance and size. Favourable weather conditions have allowed us to target bottom fish such as Halibut and Ling Cod with great success.

Popular lures for both Chinook and Coho Salmon have included a variety of spoons (silver/green), hooches (white/green) and baits such as Anchovy. On top of our usual baits, we have purchased many cases of small Sardines to try out this year. We will keep you updated on how these work out!

With an eye to continually improve our guest experience, we completed a new dry room facility for our guests. Now, after any weather condition, our guests have an improved spacious place to change, dry their rain-gear, and prepare for the next outing. The popularity of our Copper Lodge was partly received as all of the guest rooms have private decks. In addition to the new dry room, we have added two spacious guest rooms on the facility we have named “Dock Side”. After a day on the water, guests may relax on the deck and overlook the activities happening only a few feet from the dock.

The new gift store and concierge centre has been completed. The new selection of quality outerwear and clothing has been well received and it has become quite the gathering spot.

We are very fortunate to have such quality crew again this year. The majority of our fishing guides are back on the water from last season. Jasmine, our Chef has some tasty new creations and the meals have been spectacular. Around the lodge, the dock staff, housekeeping, dining servers and maintenance crews are working hard to ensure our guests best possible experience. All such a pleasure to have around and enjoying the season as much as our guests!

On a personal note, on top of all the great happenings so far this season, our entire family and crew is saddened by the passing of our friend Pat Deane on March 11,2026. Pat, aka “Chief” was a part of our team which we will never be able to replace. I know many of our guests will miss his cheerful and funny demeanour, and the extensive life experiences and stories he was always willing to share. We miss you here Pat.

Tight Lines!
