2026! Looking forward to a great season

The 2026 season is just around the corner and we hope you are all doing well. We have been in regular contact with our guests about the approaching season and excitement is building!  To all of those who have booked or inquired into the lodge Thank you! We are looking forward to our opening day on June 14th. A spattering of dates during 2026 are still available. If you haven’t planned your trip quite yet, we would love to help!

I thought of taking a few minutes to update on some of the projects we have been working on over the winter months. While heading to the equator and relaxing in the sun sounds ideal, it’s far from the reality of maintaining King Pacific Lodge! While it seems like a constant amount of infinite detail, the quality of crew we have working with us is amazing. Everyone has been so eager to participate and prepare for the season.

Working in such a remote location requires most services municipalities usually provide. This year, we have installed a new reverse osmosis water making system capable of 200 gallons per hour which will better meet the demands of the lodge. Who would have thought so many rough and tough fishers would be enjoying the large soaker tubs in each guest room!

On the main lodge, we have converted our Dry Room (for rain gear) into a convenient Concierge counter and retail space. We enjoy seeing so many guests wearing our KPL branded attire and this will be the perfect place to browse for that special gift or personal treat.

The work on our boats and engines seems to be year round! This year our crew stripped out and re-painted five of our 23ft

Northwest Aluminum Craft boats. Some are at their 10 year mark and look better than new! Welded Aluminum is our preferred choice of boat construction and similar to aircraft, can be renewed almost indefinitely. Each boat takes about a month of manpower to strip, sand, paint and assemble. With safety as our top priority, we want our guests to be on the water in comfortable and well maintained equipment. Many new Mercury SeaPro Engines have also been updated on our fleet to ensure no breakdowns while the bite is on.

For added safety during the season, we have updated our mooring system at St. Johns Harbour. Mooring the lodge and facilities is no easy feat. The equipment required to moor almost 2000 ton of equipment needs to be robust and will maintained. With the help of Rob Flemming, our trusted tow boat operator, we have just installed a new ‘Stiff Leg’. Each of the facilities will tie directly to this similar to a pier after being towed from our winter mooring locations.

For anyone working on the coast, a good dry room is necessary. Without a doubt, there are days on the water where all of us can become soaked. While we provide the best rain gear and outerwear possible, it’s nice to heard back out on the water with warm, dry clothing. With this in mind, we have spent the past several months building a new dry room barge affectionately called “Dockside”. This facility will feature a comfortable change area and a separate hot room specifically designed with heaters and dehumidifiers to get you back on the water in comfort! We expect this may also become a gathering space to share some tall tales from on the water!

We are so pleased to have so many of our returning guests back with us in 2026! On top of this, so many of our seasoned and valuable crew will  be looking forward to welcoming everyone. Jasmine, our Chef has already been creating this years menu and it’s looking fantastic. Bryon, our Bartender has been reviewing the wine list, Many of our guides including world famous Rennie, Jefferson, Jeff Jeff, Troy and others have already been tying gear!

All of us at King Pacific Lodge are working hard to prepare for an awesome season. Should you have any questions about this years trip, or are yet to book please contact us anytime!

Tight Lines!

George
