Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Hello Friends

Hopefully this post finds you enjoying the Holidays and looking forward to an incredible 2026! It’s hard to believe we are almost  half-way through our off season! And, so much to do! The photo above, taken this morning, shows the King Pacific Lodge and the Copper Lodge safely moored near Bella Bella on the Central Coast of BC. Generally the fall and early winter has been delightful up here and only recently have we had particularly cold weather.

Our crew has been busy! On top of all the regular communication with our guests and seasonal staff about their summer plans, we have been busy with maintenance and early preparations. We have hauled and painted our steel pipe docks, stripped apart a dozen boats for restoration, hauled two of our small barges and will be planning the installation of some new engines and electronics on our boats this spring. So much effort goes in ensuring all of our floating assets are well maintained and safe for our summer operations.

Lisa and Lorna have been busy communicating with our repeat guests and making plans for 2026! There is so much excitement about the coming season and getting out on the water. For those 2025 guests who have re-booked, thank you very much! We are certainly looking forward to seeing all of you again. Many new guest have heard about King Pacific Lodge from friends and are looking forward to their first trip. Should anyone have any questions about the 2026 season please reach out anytime.

I received this photograph of KPL Fishing Guide, Steve Horvath and Bartender, Bryon King, visiting a couple of days ago. Steve is living in Squamish and working at Coop’s tackle. Bryon is heading back to visit family in Calgary after completing maintenance work here near Bella Bella. These are two incredible guys who have worked with KPL for many seasons and sincerly enjoy looking after our guests. This also speaks to the culture of our crew, and friendships go well beyond the summer season.

Some exciting news for our guide crew! Shelby Murphy and Hunter Gladstone will be joining our guide crew on the water! Both have proven themselves to be safe and very competent guides and are looking forward to getting out with KPL guests. Shelby has already guided fish over 40 pounds!

King. Pacific Lodge is owner operated and whose employees are a mix of many coastal individuals. Close to 50% of our seasonal crews are indigenous and come from a variety of locations in British Columbia. 35% (Heiltsuk) are culturally connected to our immediate lodge location; having family histories for thousands of years in this area.  We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the Heiltsuk for sharing this special place.

Below some fun photos from behind the scenes in 2025. Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
