FULLY GUIDED FISHING

Our fully guided package sets a new standard in fishing adventures. With safety as our top priority, King Pacific fishing guides are all Transport Canada certified. They’re knowledgeable, courteous and, most of all, love fishing!

Our guides are responsible for your entire fishing experience and will attend to every detail on the water. Their role is to ensure you understand the very basics of fishing with a focus of mentoring you through to perfection over the course of your stay.

Fishing and ocean conditions can change quickly and our guides are trained and experienced to respond accordingly. Expect regular communication with all our other boats to ensure everyone’s part of the action.

You will receive a minimum of 10 hours of our experienced fishing guide’s undivided attention. Our team is on the water to produce, and we guarantee you’ll be fully engaged in this experience!

The Fishy Fine Print…

- - - Additional Charges – 5% GST; a tax applied to all goods and services in Canada

- - - Hotel Tax – Charged in BC for the hotel portion of the trip. $30 for 3 night trips and $40 for 4 night trips.

- - - Conservation fee – $37 provided to organizations committed to salmon enhancement and sport fishing access in British Columbia.

- - - Airport & Community fees: Are charged by Vancouver (YVR) and Bella Bella (ZEL) airports. Community fees are user fees charged by the Heiltsuk First Nation (Bella Bella Band)

Fishing Licenses – Licenses Fees are approximately $35-40 and MUST be purchased prior to your trip through the Department of Fisheries (DFO) –click here to Register Now

Gratuities – Gratuities are common at the lodge and pooled among all lodge staff. Guides, Instructors, and our Massage Therapist are independent of the lodge staff and retained individually.

On-Site Retail – Once at the lodge, we do have retail items such as gifts, sundries, and alcoholic beverages you may purchase at respectful prices. Internet and telephone are free.

You can expect to check-in for your flight at either 7:15am or 8:15am, PST. Your finalized check-in time will be emailed to you in advance of your trip.

We depart from the Vancouver International Airport’s (YVR) South Terminal, which is a short drive from YVR’s main terminal. You will board our private chartered plane, and fly 1 hour & 20 minutes to Bella Bella, BC. From there, you’ll take a scenic 10-minute helicopter ride directly to King Pacific Lodge. Your luggage will be delivered directly to your room by our crew

Aircraft Travel:

During your fixed wing and helicopter travel, please ensure you and your immediate companions are respectful of safety. You may be denied boarding if there is evidence of intoxication. This may include an incident with a prescription medication or an illness. If you are feeling at any particular point you are incapable of safely exiting the aircraft, loading, or maintaining your composure please let us know. We will help you.

While loading and unloading any aircraft please be mindful of directions from our ground or helicopter crews. Do not – for any reason – wait beside any aircraft, particularly helicopters. It may seem like a good idea to walk around the back of a helicopter, under a wing, look for a bag, take a photo of your friend etc. Trust us, this is not a good idea. Move away from the aircraft and to the designated areas as quickly as possible.

Do not distract the helicopter pilots. As an example, do not reach ahead of the pilot and try to take a selfie with them at any time. This obscures the pilots vision and is dangerous.

During Your Stay

The typical day will start with an early morning wake up. (Did we mention 4:30am?) Not to worry, if a little later works better for you the fish will wait and the coffee will stay hot.

A hot breakfast will be served starting one hour prior to daybreak. Boats are typically off the dock just prior to daybreak and as soon as it’s safe to navigate.

You may pack a lunch and several snacks as you may choose to stay on the water over lunch. We’ll stay in touch and lunch will always be available from 11:30 to 1:00 at the lodge. We’ll even deliver!

After an awesome day on the water, we’ll look forward to seeing you for dinner. Each trip our Chef will work to determine the best time for dinner based on the premium fishing times. Look for some flexibility in this schedule between 5 and 8pm

How To Pack

Due to limited cargo space, your total baggage weight cannot exceed a total of 25 pounds. Pack all items in one bag. Using a soft-sided duffel bag reduces baggage weight significantly and fits better in the cargo hold on the planes & helicopters. For more information download our packing information handout

What to Pack

Weather conditions can vary significantly from day to day, so layering is best.

Heavy Items to Avoid

Wheeled or hard-sided luggage – choose a soft sided duffel bag.
Raingear/boots – KPL provides top of the line. If you need short boots to fit over those big, strong, calves please bring your own.
Waterproof rainwear, rain boots and personal floatation devices

Fishing equipment/tackle – KPL provides everything you need for a top-of-the-line fishing experience. KPL’s boats are equipped with the most recently successful spoons, flashers & hoochies. No need to bring your own!

If you do have something special you would like to bring please let us know well in advance and we will accommodate. If you would like to bring a fishing rod as example, and it is full length, we may have a hard time loading it into aircraft. It could be shipped to us in advance and we can bring it in by boat prior to your trip. If a fishing rod is a must, and brought the day of travel the necessary case must be under 6ft. to load in the aircraft.
